I think I can honestly say that most people don’t think about WHERE or WHO will wash their new car once purchased. Well...I’m not most people. I purchased my first brand spanking new luxury car in 2004. Before that I owned “practical” cars for traveling with kids.
My 2004 Cadillac CTS called to me and I answered the call, but worried about keeping it clean. I named my car “Baby” and went in search of a car wash. I finally got up the courage to allow her to go through a so-called “brushless” car wash after grilling the owner. “Do you GUARANTEE she won’t get scratched?” I inquired. He reassured me, but I still didn’t believe him. I watched as Baby went through the wash, my face plastered against the glass, my palms sweaty with anxiety. It was too much! I examined her closely afterwards and despite no damage, I vowed to find something better, but what?
One day after Baby had been unwashed for several weeks, I peered outside a window at work and saw a white van. A man was washing down a car in the adjoining parking area. I stopped what I was doing and ran outside. “Who are you?” I asked. “Hello, my name is Frank Prior. I wash cars using my mobile service vehicle here,” he said with a BIG smile.
I observed a little longer and then said “I want you to wash my car. Her name is Baby and she’s right over there.” He looked in the direction I pointed and said “No problem.” And ladies and gentlemen, THAT was the start of a 12-year relationship with 1st Priority Detail and Frank Prior.
Baby still gets her baths from Frank and will continue forever (she won’t allow me to sell her or trade her in). Frank and his associates have amazed me and he makes housecalls or office calls or “I’m in the mall. Can you come by and wash Baby?” He is always most accommodating. Once I purchased a gallon of milk and it had a hole in it. When I opened my trunk, half the milk had oozed out into the carpet. Over the course of a few days that sour milk aroma took over my car. Frank came and fixed it. Another time I spilled a whole container of Woolite for darks onto my passenger side front seat, down onto the floor and it seeped into the carpet. That was a hard one, but Frank fixed it.
